As promised, setting up your first AP (Access Point) is quick and easy. However, you might face a few small issues during the first-time setup. These common problems are already explained in the "Troubleshoot Your First AP Setup" section of the registration guide.
What is manual debugging?
Ray APs come with a great feature that helps you find and fix problems during setup. If your AP isn’t registering properly, it can broadcast a special signal to help diagnose the issue.
This should be your last step to check if any important settings are missing.
Here’s how to check:
If your AP hasn't been set up or isn't getting activated, you’ll see the blue LED light blinking slowly.
(You can check the "Troubleshoot with LED Blinking" guide to understand what the blinking patterns mean.)
When the blue light is blinking slowly (on Vega model APs), your AP is broadcasting a WiFi name (SSID). This SSID includes the MAC address of the AP without colons.
Example:WiFiabacdf00a0b0
(See the screenshot below for reference.)
3. Select the AP broadcast SSID and insert the wifi key as MAC address without a colon ( for WiFiabacdf00a0b0)
wifi passkey will be "abacdf00a0b0" .
4. Once you are connected with the AP through default WiFI broadcast SSID, you can browse the AP web console using the default AP IP for all the Ray APs is 192.168.33.33, for web console page reference check the below snapshots.
In the snapshots above, you’ll see several setup checks:
Green checkmarks mean everything is okay and ready for the Ray service to work.
Red crosses show something is missing or not set up correctly.
If your internet is working properly, all the checks should turn green.
But if the last one, "Certificate Present," shows a red cross, you should contact Ray Support at @support@ray.life for help.
